Good day, Elle!
Fine day here, but forecast says we have "thunder snow" later in the week?
Are you getting snow etc this week?
I am not aware of "neighbour's son-in-law", situation?
Ref, the haggling.
You should be prepared to leave if things do not go to plan.
I have not experienced this, but the company often follows up by phone call, asking you to stay, with an improved offer.
I do not look for miracles, but a friendly chat with "retentions" usually pays dividends, I've found.
They are happy, I am content. A good outcome!
Give it a go!
I have a one hour slot for 'phone delivery this afternoon.
I'll watch "Homes under the Hammer" until then.
I find it astonishing what folk will buy!

Hi, Rusty!
Ah.........maybe possible clarification of pronoun needed re the neighbour situation?
Neighbour and old family friend was taken ill before Christmas - possible seizure - now staying with daughter.
Son-in law (of neighbour) came over to discuss our neighbour's health?
Clearer?
( I should be wary of this "pronoun trap" by now!
Remember, it nearly had me going to a concert with a stranger!)
I don't think we are having any snow?
But I have heard of this "thunder snow"....snow is supposed to fall as would heavy rain during a thunderstorm?
Rather a weird scenario, I thought?
I have finished the Times 15 x15.
Have you done yours?
You would not be pleased? One Cockney clue and a dubious (to me) homophone.
I couldn't parse 28a? although the answer was obvious from the first part of the clue.
I hope your phone arrives on schedule!

Hello, Elle,
I have not done crossword, so far.
I understand the neighbour situation now.
I am hoping the thunder snow turns out like the recent named storms which did not amount to very much.
I am driving on Friday morning so I hope the snow does not amount to much.
'Phone should be here soon.
Just had a text from supplier.

Hello, Elle!
28 just appears to be a double definition.
21 is awful!
26 is worse!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I did warn you!
And I quite agree!
I have only just seen how "clearance" can mean "spare room"!
I was fine with "green light"!
I am just going out with the dog.......back later......

Hi, Rusty!
We had a nice time out - no rain and quite mild!
Did your phone arrive within its hour time slot?
I expect you are now having fun "organising" it?
(Is it complicated?)
We are in dire need of a new television!
The present one very worryingly keeps emitting explosive noises!
Daughter and I are going to investigate possibilities tomorrow..........my husband says he is keeping out of it!
Any relevant advice gratefully received?

Re the new TV, elle, my advice would be to go for the simplest possible. Also be aware that newer ones connect to the internet (though I think you have to set this up), and that if you do this it is a two way thing. i.e. your TV watching and searching habits will be passed on, in order to target advertising. I find this seriously creepy

Hello Ros!
My policy is always to go for the simplest, as otherwise my technical ability would be too severely tested!
All I require of my TV is a programme to watch and a way of recording said programme.
Hopefully easy?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, doings things with, and to, my phone!
Phone is fine, but problems with EE.
Their website is like something designed by Noah.
But I think I am there now.
Explosive noises?
Goodness, just sling it would be my advice.
I am more at home with a wireless.
But if I needed a TV, i would opt for a Samsung.
That's what I have now, a 40 inch screen one.
First class TV's.
Wee tip.
Go you, to Currys site, and click on TV's and read the reviews.
Mine tells me everytime I put it on, to tune it into the wifi.
I have an idea it is for watching last week's programmes or something.
So, I will not do it.

Hi, Rusty!
Ummm........."Boys and their toys"....!
You sound like you are enjoying yourself, exploring the new phone!
I don't know much about EE..............I am with O2.
Yes, I was studying Currys (which is where we are going tomorrow) and TVs, earlier on in the evening.
It is like a horrendous maze....too much information....... I do not know which way to turn!
I feel like Theseus looking for the necessary piece of string!!
I am sure my daughter will be able to assist me!
I do not want to mount the screen on the wall either...so will require a stand or table.
More problems!
Hey ho!
The prospect of shopping for such is depressing me......strong coffee needed!
