Good evening, Elle!
I am splendid, thank you!
Have been doing mundane tasks to do with paperwork etc.
Things which I should have had in order ages ago, are now getting attention.
How were the sales, or is that tomorrow?

Hi, Jazzgirl!
That is most kind of you to take the trouble to set my mind at rest.......
I will not ask you how you know these things.........!
Your "little bird" ( re your post to Redcoral) has been very busy today!
Happy New Year!

Good evening, Rusty!
I am glad to hear that all is well.
You should know by now my propensity to worry!
Yes, you did mention the other day about sorting out documents, wills etc.
A good idea; one that many of us should probably be emulating.
I went to have my hair cut today.
Then we did some local shopping, and, later, a dog walk.
I am hitting the Sales (Heaven preserve me) with my daughter , tomorrow!
You were mentioning Harpenden the other day.........
Strangely, my friend Sue (the one from Tewin) has just reported that her son and family have moved there - from Hong Kong!
Is Miss O home now?

Hello, Elle!
I was at a lot of places in the Luton/Dunstable area but remember little about them, just the names.
Like Tring, Hemel Hempstead, and Harpenden, etc.
Tring often pops up in a crossword!
I remember one place which had fish swimming in a pool in the main street. Possibly Watford? Or in the Watford area.
i have all my papers sorted now.
Hope the sales go well tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Now I know of Tring......a work colleague of mine lived there, and travelled up to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead each day.
I have never been to Watford though, so do not know of any fish!
I visited Maidstone in Kent........and seem to have a memory of a river running through the High Street?
( I am sure someone will correct me if I have misremembered this!)
I recall Maidstone as being a very attractive town centre.
I am not looking forward to our shopping spree....I have a dreaded list!....I hate crowds, and the Sales are bound to attract many people.
The only advantage will be that, hopefully, we can get more birthday presents for the children than we could otherwise afford.
So worth a bit of self sacrifice , says she nobly!

Good evening, Elle,
I was not as far South as Kent.
Kings Cross Station would be my Southern limit, I think.
I have it in my head there were goldfish swimming in Watford!
It was a lovely day, too, I remember that!
I think there was a well known person living in Tring when I was there, but I have long forgotten who.
I was at a place called Stony Stratford, too, I think it was called.
I know the courts sat at Maidstone, the Assizes?
Is that the county town of Kent?
You best get out early for the sales!
Is your daughter collecting you?

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day so far.......and a tad milder.
We had a good walk.
Yes, my daughter is collecting me in about an hour.
This is not actually on her way, but she will have the time after dropping BB at school, and it gives me the chance to take out the dog, and get changed etc.......rather than be rushing around and then going out to catch a bus.
We are dividing up our day........and going out for a leisurely lunch (our treat to ourselves! ) in the middle of all the shopping trauma.
You are going to visit your youngest granddaughter and her mum this morning, aren't you?
Have a good time!
Catch up later......
