Merry Christmas to you all here

@Elle, the Winter Gardens was demolished in 2002. Very sad to see it go, but happy memories of all the classical concerts there

Good morning, Elle!
Yes, I was for my paper etc at 7.50!
And guess what?
I got a Christmas card from the ASDA girls!
It was very nice of them and made my day.
I usually have a bit of banter with them when I am in.
I have no plans but my son is coming to see me but I do not know when.
It is a fine day here.
The Met Office have said Storm Conor is heading this way!
Barbara was a damp squib here and I wonder what Conor will have to say for himself!
I have finished my crossword.
"Bel esprit" is a new phrase to me, but other than that it was quite doable.

Good day, Jazzgirl.
Very best Christmas wishes to you, too!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

@ Jazzgirl :Yes, I read something about that....wasn't the site turned into a car park?
A sad occasion - I suppose it is called 'progress'.....
We did go to Bournemouth a couple of years ago, but we stayed up near Branksome Chine and didn't go into town.

Hi, Rusty!
It was probably wise to do your bits of shopping early - there may well be last minute crowds.
How lovely to get a card from the ASDA girls! You must be a favourite of theirs!
Well, I am as ready as I shall ever be......bar pushing the hoover round the lounge in a minute.......
I'm not sure why I'm bothering...it will be chaotic once everyone arrives, and no on will notice the floor!
I thought you'd said that your son was coming this evening? but anyway have a good time whenever he arrives!
Any interesting clues in the crossword? Has Mr R excelled himself in honour of Christmas?
I hope Conor doesn't give you any trouble - he sounds to be more "ferocious" than Barbara by all accounts!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the ASDA section leader said I was the only one they gave a card to.
I was very chuffed!
I do have a bit of banter with them every day, though.
And one of them is a good pal of Miss La Bamba.
Oh, it is evening my son is coming?
That's fine.
No, none of Mr R's wee foibles today.
A good crossword.
Had to hunt the dictionary for "bel esprit", that's all.
I do not mind doing that.
It is a fine day here.
Bright blue sky, no sign of Conor!

Merry Christmas, Pigale!

Hi, Rusty!
Whew!
I am just taking a short break......
I have been playing board games since the family arrived about lunch -time!
The amount of luggage looks as though they have come for a month........ but I think most of it is presents for all the children!
What have you been up to?
Are you having a good day?

Hello, Elle!
Good to hear you are having fun!
I have had a quiet day at home.
Even my phone is quiet today.
My son will be here soon.
Just reading until he gets here.
No crossword today?

Hi, Rusty!
I expect your son will be with you by now.....I have to take my "mini breaks" as they come!
No, no crossword today - I didn't buy a paper as I doubted I would have the time to attempt the puzzle.
We have been playing card games........oops, I came last in "Happy Families".
We have had dinner, and the boys are bathed and nearly ready for bed.
Just one more game first.......
What were/are you reading?

Good evening, Elle!
You appear to be having fun with the young ones!
My son has been and gone.
My book is "Exhumation of a Murder".
It is about Major Armstrong, of Hay-on-Wye.
Do you know of him?
I have just started it and it is good.
Are you all set for the big day tomorrow?
Very quiet around here.
Early nights, I wonder?
