Hi, Rusty!
It is sort of plain............I'm assuming that these "Sim card only" deals just come with contract phones?
(Mine is a "Pay as you go" )
So your "deal" is incorporated in the Sim card?
Therefore, if you want to change the deal, you have to change the Sim?
That (if I have it right) makes sense to me.
But what about your phone numbers that are stored on the Sim card?
Does the service provider transfer those contact details from one Sim card to another for you?
I hope you are following my (sluggish) thought processes?
Oh dear, bring back carrier pigeons!
Or maybe smoke signals?

Hello, Elle,
There are Pay as you go deals, too.
You could possibly have to change the Sim on a new deal.
Depends on the technology and that is advancing rapidly.
There are 3 sizes of Sim card that I know about.
The good thing about Sim only deals is that some providers have different lengths of contract.
1 month, 12 month, 2 years.
Tesco offer triple top ups.
If you top up £10, Tesco increase it to £30, I believe.
There are all sorts of deals out there, if you look.

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for your explanations!
You are very patient!
I have never bothered to look into better deals as I use my mobile phone so infrequently.
Family and friends will ring me on it should I be out, but otherwise will use the house phone.
I may make possibly one or occasionally two calls or texts a day, that is all.
Basically , it is for emergencies.
Of course, should we be away from home for some reason - holiday maybe - then the mobile does get more use!
I expect you use your mobile a lot and so good deals matter to you.
I can see the sense in that.

Hello, Elle,
My mobile is almost never used for me making calls.
I much prefer the landline for that.
I can hear better!
But I text a lot and browse internet quite a bit on it.
My contract allows me 500 talking minutes on my mobile each month.
I doubt if I ever use 10 minutes in a month.
And I very rarely take it with me if I am going out.
So, I just want better value for my money, that's all.
So, I am scouting various deals which may suit me.
It is blowing a gale on the loch!
I've just had a look, and it is noisy!

Good morning, Rusty!
A damp but mild day so far....
I arrived home with a very muddy dog!
I am sat at the computer, printing out my crosswords and drinking my coffee!
I shall take a look at the Times QC first....
I have a friend coming round about half eleven and then we are going out for lunch.
"Ladies who Lunch"!
Whilst out, I must fit in a visit to the P.O to take my Overseas cards, and buy all my other stamps.
Have you got anything in particular you need to do today?

We have the Christmas tree erected now......it still needs the lights putting on, and then decorating.......but we are on our way!
I am half way through the 15 x 15......

Hello, Elle!
Very mild here, too!
You are doing well with your tree!
I have just missed an excellent documentary on Sky Arts about Harper Lee and To Kill a Mockingbird.
Would have recorded it, had I but known.
Well done on the discount voucher!
A good saving for the Ladies lunches!

Hi, Rusty!
That is such a shame to have missed that documentary - I think it would have been been very stimulating?.....
I should have enjoyed hearing about it!
I loved the book - and the film was excellent too.
I presume you've read the book?
Now did you also see the film?
As you will know, I have a thing about film and book correlation.....but "To Kill a Mockingbird" is up there with the best of them....
Brilliant correlation!
I cannot commend it highly enough1
And Atticus Finch was well played by Gregory Peck.
(A friend of mine has called his dogs "Scout" and "Boo")
What time will your son arrive?

Hello, Elle!
Aha....!
You have not missed the documentary!
It is on YouTube.
Type, "Hey Boo! Harper Lee and To Kill a Mockingbird".
Lasts for over an hour.
I read the book many years ago.
Same with the film.
Gregory Peck was excellent in it.
My son has gone home.
He brought stovies for me.
And then La Bamba turned up!
So it was a nice evening.
