Hello, Elle!
There may be a bit of the programme on YouTube?
No, I pay cash for almost everything.
I gave money to Miss O (she got me discount) and La Bamba chose the fire.
If they won't fix my fire, and I can not, it is no problem at all.
I did not use it for heat, but for a warming look, and there is a fine shelf along the top for the young ones photos.
So I shall not worry about it.
I hope Mr Jingles is well wrapped up, it is Baltic here!

Hi, Rusty!
We put our family photos on the piano!
That is also where my bouquet of flowers is, at the moment!
Now, Mr M and I are discussing words and the use of the English Language......
I knew of course of the palindrome "Able was I ere I saw Elba" - I should think most people know that.
But I didn't know this one....."A man, a plan, a canal. Panama."!
Did you know that before reading this book?
(Mr Jingles has a woollen scarf!
Do Fang, Hector and Rosie know that he is coming?)
I shall look for Bing on YouTube......

Hello, Elle,
If you visit YouTube, enter "Bing Crosby, Sky Arts" and it will give you a wee flavour of the programme.

Yes, Rusty, I have done so........
The clips of "High Society" with Bing, Grace Kelly, and Frank Sinatra, and of "Going My Way" where Bing played a priest, made me feel very nostalgic....
There is no-one like Bing!
One of the greatest singers of all time!

Good morning, Elle!
Very frosty here!
Yes, it is a good clip of Bing.
Pity you do not have Sky Arts.
Some good stuff on there.
Bing and Dean Martin were my favourites at that kind of singing.
Bing was a fine actor, too.
Right, off for my paper!

Good morning, Rusty!
We have fog!
It is a tad warmer than yesterday, but is not exactly a healthy atmosphere in which to be out!
I am only just back from the park....and am imbibing a coffee and eating a Granny Smith apple whilst writing this!
I think a day like this calls for me to begin writing my Christmas cards.......
I shall listen to Bing whilst so doing!
I get the feeling that my Xmas cards for Overseas may arrive by Easter the way I am going!
Have you written yours?

Hello, Elle,
Very cold here but meant to be a lot warmer tomorrow.
I shall take kindly to that.
I have bought some cards for the young ones etc.
Not written them yet.
I'll have to get a wreath for cemetery soon, though.
And bright flowers.
Bing was a very good golfer, too.
I think he played in the British Amateur Championship once, and also the US Amateur.
Actually, he was on a golfing trip to Spain when he died.
Good luck with the card writing!

Hi, Rusty!
I have reached out all the cards - my list is already prepared........
I am all ready for the "off"!
My husband's job is to get the tree down from the loft.
He will erect it and fix the lights and then I - with the help (hindrance?) of the cat - shall decorate it.
It is a competition...how many baubles can I hang on the tree, before the cat takes them off......
Yes, I also need to get a wreath to take to the Crematorium.
I shall leave that till a little nearer the time so that it stays "fresh."
Bing actually died on the golf course after just finishing the 18th hole.
They say he was singing and laughing whilst going round the course.
"Straight Down the Middle"?

Hello, Elle!
How is the writing and tree-fetching going?
My tree is a very small one, and sits on the window sill.
You appear to have a very clever cat!
Bing used to say he was a nightmare to his agent.
He only took bookings etc if they fitted in with his golf!
Apparently he turned down the lead role in "Columbo" for that reason.
It is fell dreich here.
Our weather is supposed to be getting warmer overnight.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I am making great inroads into my card -writing!
I have so far written thirty -five cards....we send around a hundred , including those to Overseas, so it is a time- consuming task!
At one time it used to take me even longer, as I would write at least a few words in each card - but with the advent of email, I do keep in more regular touch with a lot of people, and so do not need to communicate extra-especially with every recipient at Christmas.
But the tree -fetching, as you put it, is not going so well........I have never heard such lame excuses for putting off a deed......!
So have you already put up your tree?
I didn't know that Bing was offered the role of "Columbo"?
Peter Falk seemed "made" for the part!
The fog has lifted...but it is dank and becoming dark!
I think I am done with card -writing for today....!
