Shame you won't see the Tour Chrise - Have you ever seen it? It's quite an experience well worth the detour, for you don't just see the riders who pass at great speed (unless going up a mountain), but you also have well before the riders LA CARAVANE DU TOUR ; This is made of all the sponsor's vans and they each throw plenty of goodies at the spectators, cyclist hats, T shirts, key rings, sweets, balloons and all sorts of gadgets. It really is great fun and is a jolly affair!

As for the garlic, it keeps the vampires away!

I have, pigale. Several years ago I was on top of Ditchling Beacon to see it go over, then the next day with friends in Petersfield, then last year we had a houseful to see the two Yorkshire days.

Any thoughts on my Olympic puzzle?

.........though I must confess that many years ago, before I took an interest, I was briefly upset at being prevented from driving over the Col de Tourmalet because there was some sort of cycling race going on.

It worked out fine, though - we went over the Aubisque instead (I know it's in the other direction, but we were basically heading north), and from what I've seen, it's very much prettier.

Evening, Rusty!
Talking about "earworms''........I've now been wandering about singing "We shall overcome ......."........ what have you started?!
Goodness, a busy afternoon..... a friend dropped by unexpectedly - it was lovely to see her and to have coffee and a long catch up chat, but it put us back by a couple of hours!
We've not been home long from walking the dog! A most glorious afternoon - the temperature must have been up in the mid twenties. We didn't go too far afield because of the time element, but just to the woods.
What have you been doing? that is, apart from discussing the Tour!
What a long 'conversation' and how nice to see so many people talking!
Norah's thread is going well! Celadon has some serious competition!
I promise I won't buy a taser (I can borrow yours if necessary?) and will order my Lyn MacD books as planned!
Have you decided what to read first when your books arrive?

I am intrigued by the 'more or less' and won't use Wikipedia!
A vague combination of the two I mentioned before - Polo?
Or is it a rowing cox who doesn't appear to do much!

I was a little unfair, kenyatta. It's a bit of a giveaway, but there was an equestrian component.
