"Hey good buddy! How much beaver bait for your 18 wheeler, ten-four, over" (7)

Thanks to everyone who entered.

Les, can you just parse your clue (post 21) for me? I'm seeing the anagram of ten/four and your reference to beaver bait (money) but am I missing anything else?

To be fair to Heathcliffe I'd like to postpone judging until tomorrow (lunchtime). I'm still not sure about your clue! I've only got 15 mins left then I'm Internet-less!

You more or less have the parsing. Fortunate can mean happy and through can refer to at.

It is not one of my better efforts and doesn't deserve to win, but thank you for holding off on passing judgment and, once again, sorry everyone.

Mine was more just a bit of last minute fun as I've been a bit busy today in Sheffield on a course.
You have it though. Anagram (of ten-four) with 'over' being the anagrind. The rest was a play with the CB slang from my memory of the film 'Convoy' - with reference to a artic/jugganaut/wagon costing a fortune.
I confess I had to check 'beaver bait - money'

I won't comment yet but I feel we have a outright winner already ???
