Hello again Mondrian
I think I have found the advert you mean. The boy does look like Ian Hislop. See what you think:

My garden is looking lovely (although I shouldn't say so !) with blossom everywhere including the Honeysuckle which is earlier than last year. Hope yours is blooming too. Jg

Thanks jazzy (and mondrian for suggesting the search). What a great advert! A sort of junior version of Forrest Gump.

Thanks again jazzgirl. It was lovely to see that advert again. WHat a charming little boy. I wonder if he took up an acting career.

re my garden my magnolia tree was the best it ever has been with a wonderful display of blossoms. I think it grows well here with acid soil, I think. I remember you said that you tried to grow one with no success.

The boy's name is Scott Chisholm and he is now age 21 and is an actor and TV presenter. He has done well.
I did try to grow Magnolia but both times they died and I was told it the wrong type of soil. Everything else just grows and grows!

Good Morning Mondrian
One of my hobbies is genealogy which I started many years back. That involves a lot of detective work, as secrets and lies were prevalent in previous generations and information shown on records was not always what it should have been. The scandal uncovered on two sides of the family has been both fascinating and shocking. I have also helped to find long lost family for friends which is very rewarding. Maybe that is why I enjoy cryptic crosswords' I am not off out in the rain :(

THat is a very interesting line of research for you. I suspect most families have secrets and lies somewhere along the line.r

I did look up Scott Chisholm and was intregued to see tbat he was supposedly born in Tyndrum. I know this village slightly and was amazed to discover anyone could be born there!!!! PErhaps the family were o holiday and he arriived unexpectedly early.

Have a good days gardening.. I am off to see Far From the Maddening Crowd.
