I suspect that GK may have misunderstood what you meant by "voting pattern", rambler - I assume that you are suggesting that, as BBM had attracted votes for another of his clues, he should have been given the tie break.........

Actually, no, chrise - I'm referring to the fact that bbm2 voted for syzygy and syzygy voted for ab and under those circumstances it's my view that an impartial setter would have awarded the win to bbm2 in all fairness. I know the setter can vote for whom he wishes but I didn't like it, hence my comment.

Mmm - I see what you mean, but I doubt that syzygy was voting tactically (I hope). I think we have to assume that we all vote for the clue that we like most, which is what GK did when giving his casting vote.

I'm not suggesting that syzygy voted tactically - unlike us, chrise, I don't think everybody keeps a tab on the votes!
