I noticed Gwladys mentioned the Hammersmith Palais earlier. I have never been, but many years ago (50!) I used to go to the California Ballroom at Dunstable.
Remember seeing Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band, Ike and Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Wayne Fontana etc.
Great venue and happy days.
