Chrise @12

I neglected to inform that I wouldn't be available next weekend.

Cheers.

Looks that way, busby.

Nice idea from Les, but weekday competitors don't seem interested in weekend competitions.

Hope you are well Chrise.
Might as well hijack the thread as it's going nowhere.

Bit of a shame, years ago there where many playing the clueing games, seems to me the numbers have dwindled.

What ever happened to Clue Chain, never got the chance to join in, time zone thingy, but used to love reading them.

Hi busby
Fine - spring is here, and we're having a lovely few days. Hope you are well too.

Clue Chain fell out of use last summer here, when we were often out in the afternoons. We intended to start again in our winter, but it never happened. Some of the stalwarts I've not heard from for some time. I know that Emrach is much busier now, but I'm a bit concerned about bobsmum and mrw.

The idea that the preamble would be altered to encourage recycled clues horrified me but as it happened it was irrelevant anyway.

There were lots involved in the clueing games a couple of years ago when I joined, as a complete amateur, and still am ;-). But they seem to have toddled off.
I ask myself if the "experts" (hee hee) have turned them away? (inadvertently of course)
It would be a shame if that was the case, or maybe it's just me being a tad paranoid.
I enjoy playing the games but get somewhat peed of with the belittling comments that some see the need to toss around.
What are your thoughts?

It's just impolite to belittle clues - "If you can't say anything nice, say nothing".

(I make an exception for professional setters, of course!)
