@ixion - hello, could you clarify the wordplay in #12 please. I'm loving the surface but can't really see internet="e" . Cheers Marty.

Apologies...yes, as others have said, I'm using e for internet...

Chambers gives "e - electronic, esp as, over the internet, as in email, e-trading, e-economy"

Ok, but I'm just trying too hard to make it work for me.

Such a difficult word to get a nice surface/wordplay combination.

I had ixion at 12 earmarked last night, however, now I've re-read post 10, I have to say it couldn't be any other clue now I've understood the wordplay, I'd missed the subtle Ms Putin because it was very well hidden in the Russian surface read. Now I see it as Miz (Homophone) put in, it certainly gets my vote. Very clever

I had forgotten that Sadat had been assassinated, so I missed the parsing.

Oops! I saw "miz" and Sadat but missed "put in" and thought it was just a "russiandicator". What a twonk.
