Many thanks for these gems, Jolan. Very rushed today. Here are my stabs.
1. Mad set slipped out to obtain a dramatic and unqualified success (4,4)- SLAM DUNK? (Mad set (anagram) in slipped out – slunk gives slam dunk- dramatic and unqualified success)

2. He bowed first then crooned about an affair (7)- SHEBANG? (Sang – crooned + he + bowed first letter- b gives shebang- affair)

3. Walk past and salute each of the leaders (5)- PASEO? ( First letters of “past and salute each of” gives paseo – a walk)

4. Storm shutters for spirit lamps? (10) -DEADLIGHTS ? (Spirit - dead+ lights lamps gives deadlights - storm shutters?)

5. Examination following departure of a car and information provided additionally leads to final warranty – AUTOPSY? (Auto – a car + PS- info provided additionally +y (final letter of warranty- auto ps y – an examination following departure?

Busy day in the garden, so I never got back to it. I don't think I would have got #4, and probably not #1 either - all great clues, though.

Copy and Paste from Chambers yields
deadlights (n pl) storm-shutters for a cabin window.

PS. Many a time I fastened those deadlights when in North Atlantic (etc) storms.

... they hinge down over the portholes in a ship and are made fast by wing-nuts onto bolts.. Off for the din-din now.
