Thanks for these, Jolan. Great clues as always.
Here is my stab at them.
1. Inherent in such a vocal old war cry (5)- HAVOC? (In clue, and old war cry)
2. Topple over when holding in the turbulent river (8)- DETHRONE? ( Done- over, holding in “r” for river and “the” turbulent gives d eth r one- to topple?)
3. As an alternative, following current reversal, liaise freely to produce leaders, for example (12)- EDITORIALISE? (Current – tide reversed is edit, followed by an alternative- or and an anagram of liaise (freely as anagrind) gives edit or ialise – to produce leaders, for example)
4. Keep to present line in order to get the facts right (3,3,6)- FOR THE RECORD? (Keep- fort, present- here, line – cord gives “for the record”, to get the facts right)
5. What we sourly prepared to wash out an Aboriginal hut (6)- WURLEY? (Subtractive anagram. What we sourly without “to wash” with prepared as anagrind, gives wurley – an Aboriginal hut.)
Thanks again.
