Well, enlightened ones! Today I have completed the grid, found the five characters, but am failing at the last hurdle. I know the target for which I am searching but can I find it??? Help. Please.

My hint to you is Replace not just remove

If I may come in on this, as I was in your position y'day:
that means you put the target which you know where one of the 5 characters is in the grid (the logical place actually) --- get it?

Don't bother to post them, jogamel --- I love them, but we can order them here from an English butcher if necessary, & I wouldn't like to imagine what state they might arrive in after a week en route..................Glad you managed to finish. It was a good one again, wasn't it?!

I have revealed the target but now have a K at the end of 23D. And I can't find the word this makes in BRB.
