I think the questioner would be more likely to get a slap in the face than the correct answer!

In my little world, "screw" is a common word for wages or salary.

And according to Chambers, too!

Reminds me of the story of the General being driven in a jeep by a female soldier . The jeep breaks down and she is fiddling about under the bonnet. The General says "Would you like a screwdriver?" She replies






















"Might as well - can't get this bloody jeep fixed"!
