"he's offered me the job with a jolly good screw"

in a random sample of 100 people, how many would interpret "screw" as wages?

Reminds me of the story of the General being driven in a jeep by a female soldier . The jeep breaks down and she is fiddling about under the bonnet. The General says "Would you like a screwdriver?" She replies

"Might as well - can't get this bloody jeep fixed"!

Excellent, thanks, elle.

I suppose that I would agree, trevor - though screwdriver might be less alcoholic than Screwdriver?
