I set clues just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT) to allow others to have a go.

3. Pictured as cast that once featured in comedy (7,3)

4. Show customary reserve about site where notable bits and pieces may be stored (11,4)

5. Defile, and finally initiate to war, a heavy draught horse (9)

I'll try one but leave the rest for others.

I'll have a look now- on the bright side 3 was the most straightforward so he hasn't ruined the entertainment.

Thanks for your responses. I dare say I am not the first one to fail to read the instruction, but that doesn't excuse it. The instruction could not have been more clear, and it is rather embarrassing.
