Ooh chicken soup sounds wonderful .
I am taking antiseptic lozenges (ugh) and paracetamol
but my throat is hurting so much. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, especially you. I am curled up in front of a log-burning fire and still shivering😪

Try gargling with soapy water. Always works with me. Makes the throat slimy and the germs lose their grip and fall off.

I feel very sorry for you, Jazzy! Be careful it doesn't go to your chest!
I've been taking antibiotics for a chest infection and being as sick as a dog!
I'm not sure about Chiff's soapy water(?!, but PP's chicken soup should do you good!
Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Elle. I'm sure Chiff is just teasing ;)
PP is sending the soup by email, but it will be cold by the time it arrives I fear.lol
I am steering clear of antibiotics.

My colds were always preceded by a sore throat. Provided the gargling was done before the first tickling at the back of the throat, the soreness disappears and the cold does not develop.
I have kept this secret because I realize that if this remedy was adopted universally, thousands of cough mixture employees would be thrown out of work.
However, now in my mid nineties, I feel it is my duty to reveal this cold cure, rather than carry it to the grave.
