Have you all solved this, as I see no one needs help as I do? Can anyone help with 13/14across. Each answer has 6 letters. Clue reads "playwright's to fight against current prop space cutting number of female panto character's drinks." One answer begins RE the other ends RS if I am correct, but where wordplay begins and ends, and which is which, is not given.

No, not finished yet - hit a brick wall. I've REP??O currently for 13ac. but there are clashes (I have two in 17/18ac).
I was thinking REPUGN for 13ac. but can't justify wordplay.
Also have currently N??ORS for 14ac. but expect clashes!
I still have 8 clashes to find; still some way off.

13ac. is RESTEM not REPUGN

I now have 3 clashes in 17ac (1st, 4th and 5th), 2 in 13ac. (3rd and 6th); 4th in 1ac; symmetry should fix the remainder (if I'm correct!)

The 8 differences I have are all distinct integers between 1 and 12; still not sure how to resolve clashes but suspect numbers give order in which dots are to be joined.

Just started but 14a is ciders (cinders less n)

I have 2clashes on first row, 4 on third row, and six on fifth row.

I think the numerical thing works like this example . . .
Clash at 1A and 4D is R and L.
R=18. L=12.
18-12=6.
So, this cell is the 6th to be connected.

I am not clear about the answer to 5D.
