Again a very late arrival. Love the two-sentence preamble. I wonder what's in store.

Thanks again syzygy. Not the most challenging but nice nevertheless. My favourite clues were 13 & 45 across and 24 & 33 down. As to the "theme" right up my street, I'm most definitely a 1d "type". 11d was new to me but it'll no doubt be getting an airing in Glasgow in the forthcoming weeks! Cheers.

Rather easy, but had a little problem with 11D. Of course Harper's is published in NY. That ethnic group contributes all manner of wonderful expressions to English. Too bad "bupkes" wasn't in there.

My faves: A - 15, 34, 45, D - 4, 30.

Minor quibble with 24D - the first "in". Seems superfluous, but the surface read would suffer without it. Perhaps I'm parsing incorrectly.

Thanks, Syzygy. Finished except for 11d. - too uncommon for me, I fear.
Cheers
