I agree about Paypal, but my account was hacked into. Luckily Skype refunded what had been taken (several times in an hour), at their expense. I recommend changing your password from time to time and also choosing a random selection of numbers, characters and letters even though that means writing it down.

I'm sorry that your account was hacked, rosalind.
A couple of friends had "phishing" emails, which appeared to come from PayPal, but were fraudulent. I advise anyone who receives an email asking you to click on a link to "verify your account" deletes the email. Instead, call Paypal direct to ask if they had sent you an email.

Evening guys.

I've received a reply from the site team and I've copied it below, Maybe Syzzie can shed some light later on this kind of stuff:

Hi Leslie,

Thanks for your email.

Sorry to hear your donors have had difficulty making a donation. The possible reasons for the donation being unsuccessful are:

Their Internet browser - some internet browser's don't support our website and they may need to use a different browser for example Internet Explorer or Firefox

Firewall security - We recommend that they use a personal PC rather than a work/public PC as the firewall may prevent the payment being completed

Postcode - Although the postcode field is marked with an * if they don't have a valid UK postcode please leave this blank.

Cookies/history - please clear these as they may stop you accessing parts of our site, also make sure that the cookies are turned on.

I would ask them to attempt the donation again going through the I'm not registered route and if you have any further issues contact a member of our team on 08456 10 10 45 and we will go through this process with them.

Kind Regards,

Chelsea

Rosalind, I'm trying to send an email reply to you but it won't let me, it's to answer and explain your email to me. I'll try again a bit later from the PC

Apparently my original Paypal password was so simple - a place name and a number but not taken from my address- that my account was probably hacked that way (a computer trying numerous combinations against my email address). I know someone who had his account open on screen when money began being fraudulently taken- scary stuff.
I once so nearly did respond to a phishing mail that now I am a bit over zealous in deleting suspicious ones. Better that way, I suppose.
