We walked from Bournemouth to Budleigh Salterton years ago. The "Square and Compasses" at Worth Matravers was a great pub then, and , I am led to believe, it still is.

One of my cousins used to run the Square and compass !!! (so named because of masonic connections)

Yes, indeed, Jazzy, it's a small world! Used the "floating bridge" many times to cross from Sandbanks to Shell Bay!

and Chris, Worth Matravers is just up the road from where we used to stay near Swanage!

Gosh! Small world, as you say.

I remember the "big room" just had benches around the sides, so everyone had to sit and look at each other................and therefore talk to each other (how very unEnglish, but made for a great evening!)
