Not much better & the text is rather light.

Obviously you were successful in your quest, syzygy. Many thanks again (certainly no need to apologise), I'll look forward to this evening when I'll first get a chance to look at it properly.

Thanks, syzzie! That was fun. I can't fully parse 7d though: No end to what's inside comic, silliest man in France (9). Feeling dense. Man in France? I'm sure my answer's right.

Even if not the most taxing well worth waiting for, I wish it was weekly! Lots of inspired clues with my favourites being 36A, 6, 13 & 18D and particularly 27A, lovely.
Many thanks again syzygy.

@ aristo, look under "M" in your Chambers

I wanted Jerry Lewis in there, but didn't fit.

Comic [anagrind]
silliest + M [fodder]
M = Monsieur

Ah! Thanks. I had the needed M from "what's inside comic", and wondered what the anagrind was. The definition seems a bit odd then...

i think Aristo was talking about how to break up the clue to explain putting the M inside the rest?
i thought 'what's inside comic silliest' ? an M. if that makes sense. there were a couple of others i had trouble parsing. i'll have another look.

I see Ginge beat me by a minute or two.

Nice clues. I would add A 21, 50, D 44 & 29 *
* plenty of those on the forum.

This month's certainly had more 17D than usual.

@Ginge - bit off-topic, but I'm curious why you declined to vote.
