Finished it but puzzled about the answer to 4 ac. The clue is Lady of Nobility, 8 letters. The answer appears to be marquess which is a male title, not a female one so why is this not wrong please?

would ' marquise' fit?

marchioness is the female and marquess the male.
There is a french version marquise but not sure if that fits the puzzle

I am also puzzled about the Marquess but nothing else will fit. By the way, Can anyone help with 15d?
