We seem to have a collection of sites for this crossword so I shall just contribute to the one with the most replies. I haven`t been much of a contributor recently but have been wondering if Pipesmoker has been posting. Hope he is ok.

Part of the reason for my non contributions is I have been much involved in art locally both making it and helping out at a local enterprise. If anyone is interested they could check it out on the web site artvillagescotland. This is an effort to regenerate a not very successful shopping arcade and 4 empty shops have been taken over as art and/or craft galleries.

Now back to crosswords - I am stuck on 15A, 16A, 3D (but I see chrise has given some clues) and 14D . There are others of course but help with these will suffice for the moment.

Glad you all have such hot summer weather - same here.

Mondrian. 16a had me stumped for a while but the answer is a fish. Bandleader Glen and a digit from the hand. If this helps.

That's 18, cantersue.

Mags - 8 "strain" is in a biological sense.
