Great clues as always. I don’t always get a chance to look in but whe I do the standard never disappoints.
3 was particularly devilish I thought.
No Jolan special today though!
My suggestions are:

1. Bag containing a spinach (4) SAAG. Bag (sag) around (a).

2. A single with its associated set are past performance (5,6) TRACK RECORD. Track (single) associated set- record.

3. India rubber tree about to fall back to a former state - green earth (5,5) TERRE VERTE. Green earth is a silicate of iron. Anagram (rubber) of tree around revert (to fall back to a former state)

4. Patience, possibly, is the thing that is important (3,4,2,3,4). THE NAME OF THE GAME. Pun- Patience is the name of a game.

5. Experiment encapsulating contact carrying guaranteed source of wealth (8,5) TREASURE CHEST. Test (experiment) which envelopes reach (contact) which itself envelopes sure (guaranteed)

Thanks for this Jolan.
Been very fortunate recently to be able to indulge on Tuesdays and have the delight of your brain gym.
Here is my stab at today's clues.

1. Bag containing a spinach (4)- SAAG?
Sag – to “bag”, with “a” gives saag – in Chambers as “spinach”?

2. A single with its associated set are past performance (5,6) TRACK RECORD?
A single – “track” as a single piece on its associated set – a record, giving track record- past performance?

3. India rubber tree about to fall back to a former state - green earth (5,5)- TERRE VERTE?
Tree about, anagram of tree, around “revert” gives Terre verte- a green earth pigment used in painting?

4. Patience, possibly, is the thing that is important (3,4,2,3,4)- THE NAME OF THE GAME? Patience is the “name of the game” and the “name of the game” is the most important thing?

5. Experiment encapsulating contact carrying guaranteed source of wealth (8,5)- TREASURE CHEST?
Experiment – test encapsulating contact – reach and carrying guaranteed- sure – t rea sure ch est- source of wealth?
Thanks again,
AB

My offerings are:

1. Saag (spinach) Sag + 'a' (Sag bag: a type of bag filled with a substance to allow it to be pushed into a shape)

2. Track record (past performance) track: single groove on record (disc or tape)
3. Terra verde (green earth) but cannot parse

4. The name of the game ( double definition : Patience(game)/ the thing that is important

Looking forward to seeing the others.
Thanks jolan. This helped to cheer up a rainy day

Ah. Thought mine might be wrong. Over here poke is used in place of spinach, and of course it means bag too.
