I'm confused! The subject title was Herald GK so why was that first clue cryptic? Has anyone solved it yet?

Good memory Teenie - still are lots of laughs, weekends seem to be a more deadly matter as the crosswords come thick and fast.

I can't remember there being cryptic clues in this GK crossword before but I must be wrong. Sorry.

Teenieleek. It seems that this forum is under stricter censorship now. A pity because we used to have some really good laughs.

I must look in more often. Nowadays usually just do Spectator and Genius which have a fairly small do-er ship but having a lazy day today so filling in everything in local paper, even the sudoku.

We linguaphiles must stick together. A few years ago I studied Spanish to a reasonably high level and it drove my tutor mad when I made up words but just occasionally they turned out to be proper words!
