We regularly visit a German friend in Tubingen (near the Black Forest), and for years, when asked what English present she would like is to bring, asked for episodes of "allo allo" - she now has them all (including the last one, where the missing "Fallen madonna with the big boobies" is rediscovered.

She also introduced us to the Freddie Frinton "Dinner for one" sketch, which is, apparently, compulsory viewing for all Germans around Christmas,

I remember seeing Dinner for One live on stage at the Palace Court Theatre many moons ago. My Dad took me there and we were both in hysterics. Thanks Chris for the reminder. There are now several versions of the same sketch, some ruder than others
