Before I vote, could BBM2 (or anyone else) explain POST 13, I can't seem to get a hold of the whole wordplay.

I needed to convince myself of the validity of this effort after your query .

try looking at it like this :-
Hugo's central character = "g" / Tango= "t" (phonetic)
replace(swap) in last (synonym for terminal)
in Paris during the revolution = def (the month in the revolutionary calendar)

hope this helps - I know that I'm pushing a few unwritten rules here but decided to publish anyway !

Wow, that's very very clever. I completely overlooked the 'Tango' ref and thought you'd just left it in the film title for effect.
It certainly does work correctly and thus, gets my vote
