hello Mondrian
Good to see you. 23aAnother word for bleak comprising a Channel isle and T for temperature.
I gave a hint for the other clue earlier in the thread.
The garden is looking beautiful with honeysuckle and Weigela, and mexican orange blossom all in full bloom. A lot of hard work though as there are so many hedges to trim. but I love being busy and find the work therapeutic

Jazzgirl. Thank you for those hints. Yes I did put matador in for picador so that should help. And of course I now see the bleak isle thing. Your garden sounds wonderful. My magnolia has been magnificent this year and the blooms have lasted ages.

They do seem to grow here but I have no suggestions as to how this happens. All gardening is a hit or a miss with me, usually the latter!!!

I have read that magnolias can be tricky to grow and there are hardly any in this area.

I`ve had a magnolia for 7-10 years - never flowered !
All around they are magnificent so it`s not the soil; my fault! Mags.
