Ideas for 6dn please.
It's one of those silly short answers where several words would fit, but none of them seem to be completely right

hi wally
I have an answer which is a synonym for a caravansary, but not sure of the parsing

I've just realised that the alternative spelling is caravanserai so minus caravan and there's your answer

Thanks Jazzgirl. I have obviously not done enough travelling in the desert (in fact the nearest I have got to a desert is Weston-Super-Mare when the tide is out ).

This thread is a haven of civilization.
Deserts are not good places in which to find yourself, Wally, especially if you have an attack of Montezuma's revenge! Come to think of it, Weston-super-Mare with the tide out is much the same.

Nice to see you Rosalind in this oasis of calm!
My only experience of a desert was Death Valley National park, vast, arid and extremely hot and our Greyhound Coach broke down. We took shelter from the heat at Furnace Creek whilst waiting for a spare part to arrive. Great trip though

Thanks Mamya, I;m not an Archers fan so didn't know the Phil link nor the film. I always thought of a bight as a loop in a rope, from my scouting past. Well thats the fun over for another week. Thanks again Mamya.
