For the first time in many weeks I have answers! Numbers 2 and 4.

I hope I've solved three this week:

1. jehu (any fast and furious driver) top(first)letters of Jumping Every Hedge Unicorns

2. at leisure (not occupied) subtractive anagram of "re-use a last site" minus "seats"

4. hermit crab :)

I look forward to seeing the solutions to 3 and 5.
Thanks jolan for the brain workout. I needed that on this cold and rainy day. Jg x

I had the same 1 and 2 as jazzy, and wondered whether 5 was KING CRIMSON?

Thanks for these great clues, Jolan.
Challenging and witty as always.
Here is my rather rushed stab at them.

1. Jumping every hedge, unicorn tops any fast and furious driver (4)- JEHU? – tops of “Jumping every hedge, unicorn” gives the name of a Biblical fast driver, extended to any of that type?

2. Arrangements to re-use a last site, withdrawing seats not occupied (2,7)- AT LEISURE? – anagram of “reuse a last site” without “seats” gives “at leisure”- not occupied?

3. Anything manufactured in the same place as another established pair (10)- STABLEMATE? Established- stable + mate-pair gives stablemate, one of the Chambers definitions of which is “anything manufactured in the same place as another”?

4. Solitary sour-tempered person lives in cast-off coverings (6,4)- HERMIT CRAB? – Solitary – Hermit + sour tempered person – Crab giving Hermit Crab, a creature that lives in cast off coverings

5. Tsarist rock group? (4,7)- Very very long shot – CAVE ARTISTS? Rock is anagrind giving “Artists” from “Tsarist” and definition is Rock group – cave artists?

I had at leisure and hermit crab and also could only think of King Crimson for the rock band, but don't really think that can be right.

Called away this morning and couldn't get onto site when I got back. Only ones I had last night were:
1- JEHU
2- AT LEISURE (subtractive anag)
4- HERMIT CRAB

I tried bass guitars for 5 (it works with an American reference, but I thought it unlikely), but I'm sure AB is right.

^%$&#$@ site!

Hi all! The optician visit went well. I'll have to have my remaining cataract done soon, but this will come after my 6-month visit to hospital eye specialist.

Great attempts and hello to Ixion, Ari, Jg (very good today), busby (nice to hear from you again), chrise, ginge Mary6 well done!) and ab. ab has the first four. The last one is "pure cryptic" and I can assure the "answer" is in the clue. I've never heard of King Crimson (I've lived a very sheltered life :) )

Methinks I'll leave #5 till later, if that's OK.

ARTISTS is a great attempt at the solution. That word does not appear in the solution.

I repeat! ARTISTS was a very good attempt!!!
