Ah hello Jolan,
I'm only seeing No 2 at the mo. That's one less than I managed to solve last week...
And these are the EASY ones...??!

Thanks for these great clues, Jolan.
A delight as always.
Here is my stab at them.

1. Goes around rotisserie to find long-bodied short-legged dogs circling the meat (9) TURNSPITS?
Goes- turns around rotisserie – spit gives turnspits - long-bodied short-legged dogs used to keep the roasting meat turning?

2. Old Norse drum kept in cask (2,3)- ON TAP?
On (Old Norse) + Tap – drum gives “on tap” – kept in cask?

2. Time being the only non-cellular occupant (5) NONCE?
In clue. Nonce meaning "time being" as in "for the nonce"

3. Carefully done notice, outside job centre, leads to first employment (6)- SOIGNE?
Notice- sign + o (centre of job) and first of employment – e gives soigne – carefully done?

4. Toss back drink before playing with toys of a prohibitionist (9) PUSSYFOOT?
Sup- drink , tossed back , Pus, with anagram of “of toys” gives pussyfoot- in Chambers as a prohibitionist?
Thanks again,
AB

I've been fiddling around with 5 while going about my tasks but have come up as dry as a prohibitionist. I'll wait for AB's answer- and anyone else's, of course.

1- TURN SPIT S
2- O N TAP
3- ONCE?
4- S O IGN E

It's freeeeezing here.

Oh, I've NEVER heard it used with that meaning; we only use it to mean to be timidly cautious or to avoid being direct about something. I even tried sup backwards. Nice, AB.

I keep getting knocked off the site.

Thanks jolan
I got ON TAP and NONCE.
Obsessed with BASSETS for #1, and couldn't get a suitable 4 letter "notice" for #4.
No idea about #5.

Hi also to ginge, leapy (well done), Rossim, Ari, therogue and AB. 5/5, as usual, ab and parsed verbatim with mine (so, no need for me to post) - thank you).

Took delivery of the new toy. Same again - a Mitsubishi ASX4 4x4 SUV.

Sorry Ari to hear it;s still very cold. Nice sunny day here and reasonable mild temps.
