Can anyone help out with my last 3 in the top left corner (hints only, of course)? They are 7 & 9a and 2d. Will give clues if necessary later. One of the answers must be a themed one, the other two "normal". Will wait awhile to see if anything is forthcoming from the initiated!

Strangely enough, I think I've got all 3 now, so don't bother!

A further correction has now been made to the clue for 2dn, which now reads:

Revised clue at 2 down? A little censorship won't upset - deleted, not allowed (8)

I don't think that rudeness is an adequate reply.

Who defines the level of 'help'.

ffannie: No-one was being rude here. And you answer the question yourself: on this monthly thread there has never been an unwritten law that NO hints may be given, so who are you to define "help level" more than anyone else? You are exaggerating: if sdkl had given answers directly, you might complain, tho' even that is not forbidden here. This is NOT the AB Listener thread, you know! Help means help that can really be of use, not general platitudes that are of no practical use!

I'm sure you realise that this is a controversial area and I did find that the explicit nature of the fifth post of the day rather spoiled what should be a pleasant exercise, part of which that is discovering the theme.

The instructions could have been explained without telling people what to look for. This is a skill which is easily learned.

I do think that the reply to me was rude, or close to rude. I was being told to disappear.

I have seen posts on other sites where giving the game, or part if it away is heralded by the word spoiler, often in capitals and followed by several empty lines.

" SPOILER

This may give the game away."

By the way what's 'the AB Listener thread'?

Why come on any thread at all on Answerbank(ab) or on here if not to look for answers or to ask for help.
Most people on this genius thread each month are friendly regulars who help/hint/comment on the clues/answers, usually all on the first day as we are eager to "put it to bed".

Quite easy this month, I thought, though still a bit of a palaver to access the puzzle.

21,23 down was new to me and had to use google to confirm. Otherwise pretty straightforward.

Helps and hints yes, but answers? Does this mean you "regulars" form an exclusive crowd happy for a joint effort?

Not knowing most people and being new to online discussions about crosswords I may be naive but I was very surprised.
