I've only one to offer:
I get worse each week :(

3. OBIS (charms or amulets ) hidden in text

At first I was thinking of plural of the Japanese Obi which
made no sense.

Looking forward to the other solutions with anticipation.
Thanks Jolan for the challenge.

I had sword dance written down but could not parse it so thought it was wrong.

Bugger, I had both 'log' and 'game' in my head. No chance of getting #1 but annoyed about # 2.

Thanks again, jolan.

Great going you folk! Welcome also to Jazzy, Rambler, Wonder where's Tont these. I miss him. Ari has scored 5/5 (must also have gone to the YMCA) Nice going. Chris

I'ii append my workings. Am rushing out to a meeting in that village and will peek in when I return later. I wish Ari would stop sending that procession of low pressure areas over here. Were expecting tow more (even more severe) soon.

1. record = log; spinning = rolling; LOGROLLING = mutual aid among politicians (Chambers def).

2. kick off (sl) = die; willing = game; DIE GAME = to keep up one’s spirit to the last (Chambers def).

3. has = contains; OBIS = charms

4. point = S; anagram? = word dance?; SWORD DANCE = “entertainment involving weapons”

5. health body = WHO; extends = goes (that road goes to/extends to London); there = to that place (Chambers def); WHO GOES THERE? = guarded enquiry (cryptic)

Thank you very much for participating

Bless

John.

Nice ones, Jolan. Sorry about the weather. It was 2 F at breakfast and it hasn't gotten above freezing in ages. More snow coming on Thursday too.
