31 A. Legislative assembly reject American mouthpieces (5) ?a?i?

23 D. Low greeting initially angered part of Arab country (7) mo?????
(I've considered Morocco and Mombasa, but can't work out how either would work).
NB. In some clues, wordplay leads to the answer plus an additional letter not to be entered. I don't know if these clues are involved in this. Thanks for any help.

Not much help, I know, but last letter of 23d could be A if last starting point is Ware. Not as far into this as you. But is 15a Jcloth, and if so, why?

Thanks. I'd got the 'a' as a possibility for 23 D. For 15 A ('Small boat returned disused ugly cotton' ) I have 't-cloth' - I can't parse the clue/answer, but 't-cloth' is listed under 'cotton' in Bradford's.

I have LABIA for 31a. (Mouth pieces)

LA for legislative assembly, not sure about BIA but I think the extra letter is N.

Thanks, Nelson - I managed to get Labia. I think it's Bin (reject) A(merican) and, as you said, the 'n' is superfluous. I have finally finished - my answer for 23 D is definitely iffy, so I'll investigate further.

I have labia too. Think the missing N is from bin.

Er, I seem to be short of a space in the grid to pair with the bottom word in the last column????

I'm not quite sure what you mean - and all my places are in pairs.
