Apologies for the late request but I would be grateful if you would parse your clue @18 please Les.
If it's any consolation it's the first time I have been stumped on either "Peer Review" or "Clueless" so congratulations in advance.

Hiya Ginge,

No problem pal.

Train drawing carriages (five or ten) heading off to decrease speed in chilling turns (5,6)

Train drawing = 'Polar express' (animated or drawing of a train)

carriages = carries or contains

five =V + or + t(en) heading (first letter)

off (take off) to decrease = press (iron)

Speed in chilling turns = Def

Polar V or t Ex (-press) - Polar vortex (5,6)

Thanks for that Les, it obviously gets my thumb up and vote.

I've never heard or seen the term "Polar Express" as a train until now so even with combinations of the variious other "bits and bobs" I obviously couldn't put it together as a whole. I did play around with the polaris variety, but again obviously futilely.

Very nice, my allegiance Sire.

Les: I assumed you were using Polar Express but didn't make the connection between decrease and press. You're a tricky one.

I thought it might be missed because the word 'heading' relates to the heading of 'ten' and then you have to split the wordplay there so that 'off to decrease' meaning to take away 'press' is the next part of the clue. My misdirection was successful in that you read the sentence as a whole which is what I endeavour to aim for in the surface reading.
