Struggling here. I don't get the wordplay with a lot of these clues, so I'm not sure if the few I've solved are correct.
May I have a hint for 24a please?
Have Her Majesty in charge of German court. (7)
Thanks

Is it definitely 7 letters? I've got a good/possible word but it has only 6 letters.

Possibly GERICHT (German for a court):
ER=Her Majesty
IC = in charge
--- but that doesn't seem complete to me.....................

Vehmic or Femich - a German court. (I know you asked for only a hint, but I couldn't come up with anything.) Both these words have HM for Her Majesty and IC for in charge.

The VE stands for "have"; the adj. here means OF the court!

Thanks, malone. The wordplay with many of these clues is completely eluding me, so one of those might well be correct.
