ab, brilliant, ta.
I've come to the conclusion that this was one of those crosswords that I simply disagree with.
If they'd put 'Out fox', or 'Bamboozle' for that clue for instance, then maybe I'd have sympathy for the answer.
But 'Make mincemeat of' - in my book - means some like 'Grind to a pulp', or 'Shred to pieces'

Answers to this crossword - and others in "The Sunday Times Puzzles Pages" supplement are all on the back page of this supplement! What's the point of asking for help? Doh!

Now then, don't be dismissive - we enjoy helping and the written page does not explain a parse does it ?

You're right Philip that the answers are given, but it is virtually impossible to look for one answer without seeing several others which people may not want. Also, as Mamya has pointed out, it doesn't explain the parsing.
