Thanks jazz girl, as this was my first contribution I thought rambler was out of order and an answer with a question mark is not definitive. I think the clue was more than usual oblique.
Let's hope my future contributions are more wecomiing.

Welcome, contented. There are lots of friendly people here, but one or two get a bit tetchy when contributors don't follow the advisory "Posting Tips" (which you see when you start a new thread).
Apologies on rambler's behalf, anyway. I hope that he feels more relaxed after his mince pie.
