Very sad news indeed. I hope the end was peaceful for him

Once as a present I got a personalised crossword from Araucaria. One of the best gifts I ever received.

It seems strange to feel a loss of someone you've never met. But because of the many hours I've done battle with the great man I feel like I knew him.

A sad day- his family should feel some comfort, however small to know that he will be missed by thousands.

A gentleman I shall never forget. Strange, the way one felt one had known him personally for so long.
It's not just gratitude I feel for many, many entertaining hours all those years. Thank God the ending was peaceful & with good friends. We shall all miss him direly.

So, farewell to an old adversary.

Very sad

I shall miss Araucaria very much, but I have a book of his Jigsaw crosswords that I have had for 13 years and still have not been able to complete one! so I think I can keep him in my thoughts for a long, long time.
