I am not convinced it is 'rid'. That applies to free - be free of or get rid of. But deliver ? There is an alternate obscure noun - RFD. Should be an abbreviation for 'rural free delivery' but dictionary has two options - R.F.D. or RFD. Suppose we wait for solution tomorrow.
