Size - anagram of 'is' and 'Ez'. The definition, about getting credit at university, is in Chambers.

Got it. OUTWICKS - curling (stone) term. Phew, that's it done. Took longer to start than usual and very grateful for answer to 1 down which started me off.

According to Chambers 'formerly at various universities, to get [food or drink] on credit'.

I did most of this puzzle before going to a Christening today. Have come back to finish it, probably having enjoyed too much of the fizzy stuff to find the last three letters! Maybe I have gone wrong somewhere, but I can't make sense of 29a: Poet who's clearly simple in Malta with a point.
I have I?A?NST.
