ISo is adherent the definition? I'm trying to make the connection between Sunni and Scipios.

Also, was it meant to read Clue: News... Or was the word clue part of the clue?

I think that "Clue" was not part of the clue but in reply to an enquiry as to what the clue actually was. Adherent appears to be the definition as a Sunni is an adherent of a particular branch of Islam.
It was suggested that "Sui" in Latin (spoken by Scipio, thus the connection) means "of itself" and NN (N is usually the symbol for new, so NN would be the plural) together make Sunni - an adherent.

Aah I see, sorry a bit slow on the uptake. The plural is a bit tenuous, has anyone seen it used before?

Hi again imagcq (and rambler)
I've only just seen your replies - sorry I haven't answered earlier.
I'm looking forward to the reappearance of Clue Chain this winter - I have built up a (small) bank of clues all ready and waiting.
