Don't worry, Jolan, they're always fun, even if I was a bit quicker this time!

Just got back, and finally got 5, though I had to look it up. Never heard the term. Evil.

Evening Jolan – only have 3 (I think).

1. Write off – homophone of immediately – right off?
2. ?
3. Caravansarai – anagram (building) of ‘a vicar ran as a’ - courtyard for caravans in Eastern countries
4. Lace – Spike (l)ength + a unit (ace)
5. ?

Couldn’t think of anything for 2 & 5 so I'm looking forward to the answers:)

Thanks once more Jolan for great clues. Been away for a few Tuesdays and missed your cryptic gems.
Here are my rather rushed stabs at them.

1. Write off?[\b] Sounds like right off?

2. Long shot As one?[\b]

3. Caravansarai? [\b] Anagram of “a vicar ran as a”.

4. Pole?[\b] A pole is a point, a length and a unit.

5. Secret of Polichinelle?[\b] In Chambers as “something that is common knowledge”

1. WRITE OFF (right off)
2. IN ONE ("non" incl. in IE)
3. CARAVANSARAI (anag. a vicar ran as a)
4. LACE (l + ace)
5. SECRET DE POLICHINELLE (anag. secreted + police in hell) (I prefer this to SECRET OF)
