Hello everyone and thank you for taking part this week .

I must say I like the sound of Miss X ... cheers Ros .

Redelf's early post 2 took all the beating until busby came in with a superb reading at 18 . However even this was surpassed by ginge's gem at 20

Celtic fairytale is exotic if alas lacking tension

... love the synonym "tension" it would have been a real pennnydropper in any crossword !

your prize was recommended by a dear friend -

Congrats ginge
I must confess that I had to read it several times before I understood it - I would never have solved it in a crossword!

Thanks BBM2

Very well done ginge, thanks to bbm2 and miss X.

I had a science teacher at secondary school many, many moons ago called Mr Fuchs, lots of sniggering. Turned out he was a navigator on bombers during WW2 and was decorated. The sniggering stopped!!

Thanks BBM2 (and rosalind) and everybody for their kind words. As always, surprised to "win" with the high standard of clues entered especially the 2 highlighted by BBM2.
I don't remember my science teachers displaying such humour in the labs although they did after 4 in the pub.
@mrw nobody sniggered in Mr Shatwell's maths class. He was, rather than is I imagine, 6' 5" and an ex guardsman!
