Evening all,

It looks like we don't have to wait until tomorrow as we have 15 of the 16 votes in

Greedy kite, Samgamgee, ixion and Syzygy (Post 26) have 1 vote each
aristophanes & Syzygy (Post 24) have 3 votes each

However, with 1 vote yet to come in, the winner can't be caught.

And that is Paul at Post 9 with 5 votes for his lovely clue:

Not having friends for dinner (8)

I feel this clue really caught the spirit of the definite meaning of the word.

Thanks Paul for a superb clue, here is your prize.

Please note folks that this clip is very controversial and please refrain from clicking onto it if you have a queasy disposition.

Great clue, Paul -- kicked myself for not using that twist myself!
And thanx 4 the word, les (not so sure about the clip)..................

Congratulations, paul. Quite the clip, Les. If they ever show up at my door with pamphlets I'll give them a piece of my mind, which I'm sure would be tasty with a bit of cumin. They should be easy to spot from a distance with those Calvin Klein undies.

Rats, I missed the voting! (Work sometimes gets in the way of fun, curse it!) Never mind, my vote would have gone to Paul anyway: congratulations, that was a great clue.
And thanks for the word and clip, which i will watch when lunch has digested a little ;)

Nice clue paul it was right up there on my short list along with red elf's Cambridge diet (echo aristo?). Looking forward to watching the clip later, can't access it from my phone but the reviews so far are very much "food for thought"?. Cheers for hosting Les.
