Thanks for the other, magworth - I've never seen it.

My hint for 11 might have been more helpful! There's an anagram there.

Hi magworth, 11a starts with the Roman numerals for 51 followed by an anagram of canoeing and means a local anasthetic or "number".

Hi Folk. Why am I the only one stuck on 8ac? I can find two words that mean warning, but don’t see how they fit with the rest of the clue.
Is 21ac a fair clue? I know who Bungle was , but I can see no “second clue” to the answer!

Hi Wally
The first three letters I read as French; think of an abbreviation for a marine.
Do you mean 16 for "Bungle"? I didn't think this was particularly fair either, but I am just young enough to be able to place "bungle" - "part of children's programme" is all we aee going to get, I think.

Very late checking in, as I have been out until an hour ago. I am stuck on my last one 23a but will persevere. I had not heard of 22 across.

Chrise, I think I have a different answer to you for 8a as I cannot see any French in it. Maybe I've made an error.

I think it is French, jazzy - read it as 1,2,2
