Just finished Syzzie. Some superb clues but the jury's still out with the full parse of 28 & 36 Across. I'm thinking the first three letters of 28 is the supporter with the first letter of (n)umber added but it seems tenuous. Not sure if 36a has a link to American TV, if the Def is 'roughly' then I'm correct.
Loved the variations to 31d.
22a had me for ages with lots of letters already in.
Cheers mate, well worth the time (again)

Huge electronics and recording company, using Nipper as its symbol (his master's voice).

28A athletic supporter (of ball in golf & football, not soccer)
number = N

Aristo covered 36A & you have the def.

22A appeared early & was a mystery until the archangel showed up.

You're all welcome.

I'll contact Hayley about getting the puzzle earlier. She has an online subscription.

Well done aristo.

You may be pleased to hear that I've been working on a Harpers style crossword, I've made the barred grid and filled in all the words with a variation theme like this one but not wrote the clues yet. I'll work on it over the next couple of days and post it for you to have a go.
