I'm confused by 18 down and 19 across.

I have 'eroding' for 19 across (clue - wearing away). However that makes the second letter of 18 down (Swiss City, 6 letters) a G, whereas I thought it was Geneva.

Any ideas?

I had put erosion which is no help either!!
